This short biographical minidoc explores the life and inspiration of Little Golden Book illustrator Tibor Gergely.
Born in 1900 in Hungary, Gergely settled in New York in his twenties, and went on to illustrate more than 80 books for children including "Tootle the Train," "Scuffy the Tugboat," and "The Little Firemen." The minidoc incorporates many of Gergely's illustrations and an interview with a member of Gergely's family (the filmmaker's father).
